Setters Pass 4s is a setter’s repetition drill. But, fortunately for the setters, it offers just a little bit of variety.
With one partner, the setters perform 10 reps of each of the following setting functions.
1. Basic Hands: Just setting back and forth
2. Step and Turn: The girls move back and forth sort of chasing the sets. Take a little crossover step and a turn back toward her partner to set. The partner mimics her step sequence and returns the set. (This drill helps with footwork when the setter must retrieve a ball that is off the net)
3. Quick Pulses: Setting back and forth but with a quick pulse set to herself in between.
4. Up and Turn: She sets the ball straight up and then turns 180 degrees to back set the ball to her partner.
This is a great warmup drill for your setters when hitters are working on box approaches.
