Passing drill: crossed butterfly

So, I love the butterfly drill. If you don’t remember what in the world the butterfly drill is click this…. Don’t remember :)

My team does butterfly all the time. Lot’s of reps, lot’s of focus, a little cardio, tons of passing… how can you go wrong?? Well, the only problem I have with butterfly passing is it only works one angle, passing from left-back with a ball from right-back. What about when you’re passing from different spots on the court??

Crossed butterfly solves this problem by adding two more angles:

The near side passers pass a sharp-angle ball from left-back and the far passers are in right-back passing a ball hit from left back.

I make our passers get 20 perfect passes, then they switch sides. If we’re feeling really ambitious, we’ll throw in 20 perfect passes using hands only too. (as seen at the very end of the video)

Whew, crisis adverted. Now go pass nails!
