Here is a great conditioning drill for your team. It’s called “court fun’s”… but there is nothing fun for your team when they have to do them.
1. The team starts on the basline
2. They jog to the 10′ line and do 10 push-ups
3. Then, they jog to the net and do 10 jumps
4. Now the fun part, step under the net and do 10 shuffles from the center line to the 10′ line and back to the center line
5. Jog to the baseline and do 10 sit-ups
6. And if it weren’t fun enough, get up and jog around the post to the opposite baseline to finish Court Fun’s.
7 . Repeat if necessary
Trust me, doing one “court fun’s” will probably do the job of getting the heart pumping, but I’ve had my team do as many as 5 in a row to send a message.
Whatever you choose… let your team know that, “Having this much ‘fun’ will only make them better.”
