What’s annoying me this week? The wily winds of Kansas! I’ll admit I’ve blamed bad shots on the wind before… Easy scapegoat. We ended our Saturday session just as the wind started picking up. We woulda played in the wind but it’s really a pain in the rear. Somewhat out of control.

The 2011 Swatch World Championships aka FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships will be held in Rome starting on my sister’s birthday – June 13 – and lasting all the way to June 19.
Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann from Germany are the defending champions for the men’s event while April Ross and Jennifer Kessy from the USA are the current title holders in the women’s division.
Kerri and Misty May are confirmed to compete this year after skipping the 2009 edition to focus on their personal lives. In case you didn’t know, the 2 Olympic Gold medalists won 3 consecutive world titles in 2003, 2005 and 2007. It might be too early to say this but we have a feeling that that Larissa and Juliana will finally win their first world title after finishing second in 2005 and 2009.
