When I played, it was popular to wear sleeveless uniforms with spandex (which we called bikers) and knee socks up to our knee pads.

Then the style slowly went to a long sleeve jersey style with spandex (which they call spankies) with mid-calf socks and typically black knee pads.

I just saw Cuban National Volleyball team player, Regla Torres, wearing this ensemble:

I gave it a double take. Is this new style? Are all teams going to be wearing swimming suits to play? Not sure how comfortable I would be sporting this outfit, not everyone has a banging body like Regla here.
