Not my volleyball video Friday

The 1988 Men’s U.S. Volleyball Team vs. the Soviet Union’s Men’s Volleyball Team in a Gold Metal match. It’s captain Karch Kiraly!!! Love that guy.

It’s amazing how much volleyball has changed over the year. For 1, not many players can pinpointed to hit a specific set to only one specific spot on the court. And 2, the pancake is more widely used and less known as a “very difficult” play.

Spoiler alert! USA wins. :)

Now you can help the 1988 USA Men’s volleyball Team in the Hall of Fame! Vote here.

Q&A on volleyball offense

We love hearing from our awesome followers. A few days ago we got a comment on my 1-foot hitting progression 4 video. The commenter noticed that my setter was out of rotation in that drill. The reason I kept the setter at the net was to save her from having to run back and forth in a drill that focuses on getting a lot of reps in fast. It takes a pretty good eye to spot that! Great work Bjorn.

This post is for Bjorn. Bjorn wants me to diagram this particular rotation to see it visually. We run a pretty complex offense and this rotation is one of the trickiest.

Ask and you shall receive… Thanks Bjorn!

New volleyball movie with former 90210 star!

Yes! Brian Austin Green is in this new volleyball movie, Impact Point. And we thought he was just going to ride the coattails of Megan Fox forever… It looks totally cheesy! But volleyball movies are hard to come by. I’m still waiting for Denzel Washington or Matthew McConaughy to star in a beach volleyball action flick.

Look, there, below, you can get it from Amazon Instant Video.
