I try to teach my players to be as efficient as possible. I want speed! She is making a full left rotation, not a half rotation to the left and then turn back to the right(which most people teach). My way saves her a valuable extra step. Which lets her get back to the net as fast as possible.

It seems like you would lose vision of the ball, but you don't. She never turns her back to the ball. She opens to the court(left step) and as she's turning(right step), she has vision of the ball the whole time.(as she gathers with a small hop)

She is over exaggerating her hop at the 10' line, but as you see by the last rep, the hop gets lower and she's faster. This player is just learning this techinique and you can actually see progress in this short clip.

This technique seems weird and I actually had a hard time with it at first too, but it works very well. If you get your players to transition with this kind of precision, teams will struggle to keep up with your middles.

Just wondering about the middle turning her back on the play - even doing a 360 turn as opposed to always facing the play??

WOW> Love these drills. Will be using them in practice tomorrow and many weeks to come. They are easy to understand and I can't wait to try them out. I'm a middle school coach and a 17's club coach. Thank you for sharing. Would like to see some Libero drills. Thanks again.
